Republic Food Enterprise Center (RFEC), located in Republic, PA, serves as a comprehensive center for the development of sustainable food products across Western Pennsylvania. We work to bridge the gap from farm to table.
We respond to the nutritional needs of Western Pennsylvanians by stimulating agricultural production, producing value-added products, distributing local produce, and developing retail outlets within food deserts throughout the region.
RFEC is a social enterprise of Fayette County Community Action Agency and supported by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (PDA).
From luncheons to major celebrations or fundraisers, RFEC has you covered. Allow us to cater your next event while you support your local farm to table movement. It's a win-win for the great community we live in.
Our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program gives you access to fresh, local produce. This is a buying program that supplies consumers with a variety of fresh foods while providing farmers with a stable market. You will receive a basket of fresh food each week full of seven to ten different varieties of locally grown produce.
We host markets at various locations throughout Fayette County with our mobile market. Additionally, we set up shop at markets that exist throughout the county and Southwestern Pennsylvania. We make sure areas that are considered food deserts have access to fresh local produce, and that our farmers' and artisans' goods are marketed throughout the area.
RFEC has a fully licensed commercial grade kitchen, with multi-temperature storage options, available for rent to local entrepreneurs. Additionally, we have storage space in the warehouse available for lease.
Whether we are selling delicious, local products or educating the public about our efforts to bridge the gap from farm to table, RFEC participates in a variety of events throughout the year and we would love to see you.
